GrowthLens Diagnostic ยท using all 11 stages of the report

GrowthLens is a 20-minute diagnostic that produces an evolving 11-stage report on your business. Free at the baseline, ยฃ27 to unlock the full Pro Report once. This guide walks you through every stage in the order you'll encounter them.

Stage 1 ยท The free assessment

Start at /growthlens/diagnostic. The wizard has three sections:

  1. Profile ยท business name, industry, stage, years in business, team size, deal size, growth ambition. ~3 minutes.
  2. Layer A ยท stage identification ยท 10 Likert statements to calibrate where you are. ~3 minutes.
  3. 128 capability questions ยท across 15 categories. ~12 minutes. Auto-saves every keystroke so you can pause and come back.

On the final screen you see your Business Health Score (0-100) and a stage classification with a 3-paragraph narrative. This is free.

Stage 2 ยท Unlocking the ยฃ27 Pro Report

The free report shows your score, stage and basic top-10 recommendations. The Pro Report unlocks 6 additional sections (every stage from 4 onwards). Three things to know:

  • It's a one-off ยฃ27 ยท not a subscription. Once paid, this report stays Pro forever, at the same URL.
  • The unlock takes ~1 business hour ยท click "Unlock for ยฃ27" โ†’ fill in your name + email โ†’ we email a secure payment link โ†’ once paid, the report flips to Pro automatically (you don't have to refresh).
  • Stripe Checkout will replace this ยท soon ยท without any UI change for you.

Stage 3 ยท Business Health Trajectory

Every completion is auto-snapshotted. The trajectory section shows:

  • A sparkline of your score over time.
  • Delta vs your previous snapshot (in green if up, red if down).
  • A list of your last 4 snapshots with dates.
  • A "Re-score now" CTA that escalates visually past 30 days ยท the platform's way of nudging you to come back monthly.

Re-scoring is the same wizard with the same questions. Most people do it in ~10 minutes because they remember their answers.

Stage 4 ยท Prioritised Growth Roadmap (PRO)

The headline Pro section. Three parts:

  • Top 5 Risks ยท your weakest categories, each scored on effort (Low / Medium / High) and impact (Low / Medium / High).
  • Top 5 Opportunities ยท mid-band categories with the biggest upside ยท "almost-green" areas where a push pays back fastest.
  • 30/60/90 phased plan ยท sequenced action plan with bespoke headlines per category. Stabilise โ†’ Systematise โ†’ Compound.

The roadmap is persisted server-side ยท it doesn't regenerate on every visit. Hit "โ†ป Regenerate" to rebuild it after a re-score.

Stage 5 ยท Premium Recommendations (PRO)

The bridge from "here's where you are" to "here's what to buy". Maps your weakest categories to the engine that best addresses them.

  • Primary engine ยท the one that addresses the most weakness. Big card with the engine's accent colour.
  • Secondary engine ยท the second-best fit.
  • 3-5 next-best actions ยท specific, deep-linked into the engine pages and the relevant solution surfaces.

Stage 6 ยท AI Strategic Assistant (PRO)

A Claude-powered chat that already has your full diagnostic loaded. Use it to:

  • Pressure-test a decision.
  • Ask "what should I do about my [low category] score?".
  • Get a sharper framing for a leadership conversation.
  • Run "what if?" scenarios on the report.

Capped at 50 messages per report to keep token cost predictable. Empty-state shows 4 starter questions you can tap to begin ยท you don't have to write the first message cold.

Stage 7 ยท Implementation Support (PRO)

Every action in the 30/60/90 roadmap becomes a tickable item. Each action has:

  • Four status pills ยท Not started / In progress / Done / Skipped. One click flips status.
  • A notes drawer ยท 2k character capture for what you did, what worked, what didn't.
  • An execution-progress summary at the top of the phased plan ยท "X/Y done ยท Z%" with a progress bar and chips for in-progress and skipped counts.

Progress is per-action ยท re-opening a done item clears the completed timestamp but preserves the first started- at timestamp.

Stage 8 ยท Peer Benchmark (PRO)

Anonymous comparison against other businesses at the same stage and in the same industry. Shows:

  • Headline percentile ยท "ahead of N% of peers".
  • Per-category bars with your score, the cohort average, and the delta.
  • Cohort size + basis so you know what you're being compared against.

5-peer minimum before any comparison surfaces ยท if your cohort is too thin you'll see a "warming up" message instead of misleading numbers.

Stage 9 ยท Knowledge Library (PRO)

17 curated portal surfaces (engine pages, solution pages, playbooks, articles) ranked against your weakest categories. Each card shows:

  • What type of resource it is (Playbook / Framework / Page / Article / Worksheet).
  • An estimated reading time.
  • A reason line in amber italic explaining which gap this resource tackles, with your actual score.

Stage 10 ยท Strategic Partner Matching (PRO)

Live supplier matching from the B2B Growth Hub ecosystem against your weakest categories. Up to 5 partners with:

  • Company name, tagline, description.
  • A reason line ยท which gap they specifically address and your score in that area.
  • Category chips showing the gaps they target.
  • A "Request intro" CTA ยท curated, never autoplay.

If no supplier matches your gaps yet, you'll see a friendly "ecosystem still building ยท request a curated intro" card. Never dead air.

Stage 11 ยท Exit Readiness (PRO)

Forward-looking composite that asks "what would a buyer see today?" Weighted over the operator-hygiene categories. Outputs:

  • Composite score (0-100) coloured by the band you're in.
  • Four bands ยท Pre-foundation, Founder-dependent, Operator-grade, Premium-ready ยท each with a typical-multiple range.
  • Four buyer-eye indicators ยท founder dependence, financial hygiene, operational maturity, governance posture.
  • Pre-exit checklist ยท specific gaps to close before going to market, with buyer-perspective remediation copy.

Useful even when exit isn't on the horizon ยท the same factors that drive valuation are the ones that let the business run without the founder.

Sharing your report

Every diagnostic gets a permanent shareable URL of the form /growthlens/diagnostic?id=<cuid>. Safe to bookmark, safe to share with a colleague. Three things to know:

  • Anyone with the URL sees the report. Treat the URL as an access token.
  • The URL stays the same whether you're free or Pro ยท visitors see whichever tier the report is currently on.
  • If you sign up after starting as a guest, the report auto-claims to your account on next load ยท no manual attach needed.

Finding your past reports

When signed in, every diagnostic you've ever started or completed lives at /account/diagnostics. Each row shows:

  • Business name + tier (Free / Pro).
  • Status ยท Completed or In-progress with step number.
  • Industry, inferred stage, current score, snapshot count, days since last score.
  • "Continue" button for in-progress reports ยท "Open Report" for completed ones.

Troubleshooting

  • Wizard not saving ยท check your network connection. Auto-save fires every 800ms ยท if it's persistently failing, the localStorage backup covers you ยท you'll resume where you left off.
  • Pro Report not unlocking after payment ยท email /contact with the diagnostic URL and the payment reference. We unlock manually within 1 business hour during working hours.
  • AI Assistant says "not configured" ยท the platform's AI provider isn't available in this environment yet. Every other section is unaffected.
  • Benchmark says "warming up" ยท your cohort is too thin (less than 5 peers in your stage + industry yet). It'll unlock automatically as more diagnostics complete.
